To EA Origin users, is EA Launcher really their "new" version of their app?!
I mean, they didn't say ANYTHING regarding being FORCED to get the stupid app or launcher just for me to continue to play my Origin games. Why fix ♥♥♥♥ if it ain't broken?! I did the workaround that they have online, but it's ridiculous that people should even have to be forced to do a workaround just to continue to access their games. I mean, when Ubisoft switched from Uplay to Ubisoft Connect, at least the transfer was more seamless.

From what I hear, EA App or the Launcher doesn't even reintegrate people's games right or launch them half the time. How do you ♥♥♥♥ up an "app update" so badly? There was almost NOTHING wrong with Origin (apart from the usual things that made people hate it, but at least it worked). If EA wonders why people hate their launchers so much, maybe it's because they can never get it right, and when they do, they can't even be bothered to stick with it.

Obviously. What's even the question?

Origin was a stupid app too. Why are you upset by what's basically a rebranded launcher?

So are you crying for other people's alleged problems? Or do you have actual issues of your own?

Had Origin, now EA Ap, it transfered my games on Origin to the EA App and auto logged me in from Steam, never had these issues.

Well, it's at least nice to hear that their launcher works in SOME capacity, if I'm ever forced to eventually get the app because they made Origin completely defunct with no workarounds.

I didn't get the app yet exactly because of the potential issues. But, if the issues are fixed and/or get fixed and it doesn't prevent me from actually playing my games, I have no problem. That's why I'm asking. To be sure that the problem isn't so widespread that the workaround is necessary just to access and play my games.
This EA App (or whatever the ♥♥♥♥ it's called) is as bad (or not) as Origin. Aside from logging in with Steam (which the old app couldn't), it's the same with a bit of a different look.
ya, i miss origin, it ran much more smoothly.

ok, if you have 'problem loading your library' - close window. ctrl+alt+del to engage taskmanager.

scroll and notice an 'ea app' orphan process that never got the call to close properly

-end task on it

re open

library populates.

enjoy this helpful and fun fix to ea's terrible application which is not as good as steam, but we wish still that steam would use less memory and stop drinking it like water.
I've used Origin and EA desktop client for plenty of games. Never had an issue with it.

It's just another gaming client.

If we actually want to discuss BAD clients we only got Xbox Client to point at. Good lord.
Origin did not let me install certain games. Sometimes this one or any mix of the affected ones.

The new programm let me do that. Thats the only positive thing to say about it. If thats even positive.
I went back to using Origin because half the time EA App didn't know I owned games I purchased.
Also, with EA App I would have had to delete and reinstall all The Sims 3 Store content that was working just fine with Origin.
Origin was deprecated last year for the EA Desktop

Anything you had on Origin is available on EA Desktop

Origin is mostly unusable now as even if you still had it installed before the cutover, the application basically loads and then tells you to install EA Desktop

Origin was never as “bad” as people said it was and was part of a malicious smear campaign that everyone believed for some reason despite the claims being utterly troll material

The EA Desktop is mostly a modern UI/UX refresh.

So, you're just going by what some random person said without even testing it?

For me all it did was update, logged me in, and I still have the same games without issues.

When the EA desktop was still in “beta” there was a lot of problems with it most notable was that some games were only available on Origin. That problem was resolved when it went out of beta

It’s mostly a modern UI/UX refresh. Whether you like that depends mostly if you like modern UI/UX paradigms

The only annoying issue I have with it is it frequently logs me out of my account when the client updates.

Doesn't seem like you're asking. Your question was phrased rhetorically. And seems like you're mostly complaining about an app that you admit you don't even use.

You dont own games anymore, you just purchase the ability to play them for such time as they remain available.
I've used it ever since I switched to Windows 10 and I'm on Windows 11 now. It doesn't seem that different from Origin to me. As stated, it's more of a UI refresh than anything. As also stated, everything that you have on your Origin account is carried over.

You can still play them even if they're not available anymore. I have about 400 delisted Steam games, yet I can still download them and play them. Not being available just means that users that don't already own them can't purchase them anymore.
