I am looking forward to the big Steam Summer Sale 2023 edition! Hopefully new releases such as 'Pong' will be on sale at an exceptionally discounted rate!

I already saw so many nice discounts in the past 2 weeks that I wouldn't be surprised if it sucked... :( Lara Croft's discount literally ends on July 29th

Ha ! Classic, I see this comment every summer.

Other than that, I'm wondering the theme of this summer sale. Last year was very retro and it's ok. Hopefully, I'm not too busy at work , so I can clear 100 game backlogs. I will wait and see how good this summer sale on steam will be.

Regardless, I set aside roughly $150 for Steam Summer Sale this year, hoping to get some older AAA games at discount. If nothing appeals to me, I'll buy some games/dlc on Switch, new Joycons, and maybe Diablo 4.

Well, I guess you are right. Most games I've got were pretty old with 60-90% discount. when newer ones had only up to 25%, so I bought like one. I can understand your point.

Yes, the Steam Summer Sale! Gamers will purchase dozens and scores of games on sale that will probably never be played. Steam wins, devs win, and the economy continues to be the economy. I, for one, will be on the look out for Metal Gear Solid 6, Half-Life 3, and a legit new Mortal Kombat game!

New releases never get high discounts. *Especially* not on a large Steam sale -- those are too big and too long.

I'm always open for surprises, but I generally expect only a few good discounts.
