but thats really half the fun of steam you can't believe anything you see and most of its a lie, sometimes its better to have the filter on and believe what they tell you because the truth is far more a dirty empty room then a glamorious hotel.

For a Canadian, the salary would be awesome as 1$USD is worth more than 1$CDN. For instance, a 150k$USD salary would be equivalent to a 200k$CDN salary. That would be a dream job for any Canadian game developer... if you fit with Valve's culture.
I've heard the co-workers are worse
