Prologues are NOT free games
Stop categorizing prologues as free to play games. Prologues are not free games, they are demos, plain and simple.

I understand that developers release prologues to generate interest and hype for their upcoming games, but they should not be labeling them as free games in the steam store. A prologue is essentially a teaser, a taste of what's to come, and it's meant to entice us to purchase the full game once it's released. It's not meant to be a standalone experience that we can enjoy indefinitely.

When I see a game labeled as "free" and download it, only to find out that it's actually just a short demo or prologue, I can't help but feel deceived. I feel like my time has been wasted, and it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. If I wanted to play a demo, I would have searched specifically for demos, not for free games.

its why i IGNORE ALL prologues , and its a laugh when valve advertises FREE DEMOS lmfao. this platform just keep getting worse and worse and worse, no wonder people are buying less games on here, they only care about profit and make dumb changes that nobody wants and screw up so many things every single time they put out a patch/update, i swear their IQ levels keep going lower. feels like we are in the movie IDIOCRACY.

A prologue is, rather often actually, a self-contained chapter. So instead of getting pissed about downloading a demo, consider this a standalone, albeit rather short, spin-off. Ain't nothing wrong about short games, bruh!

I have full paid games the same length as prologues.

There are plenty of prologues which are standalone experiences, quite decent at that.

Maybe give an example of a specific game where you feel like the prolong is a demo.

Well, then do a little check before you download it.

Spin-off, prequel, side story, etc. They come indeed in all kinds of variants.

They're games and they're free, so the category "free games" fits fine.

A demo is classically a small part of the original game, ripped out to show functionalities and techs but without a complete story.

The prologues are normally complete episodes. Shorter, yes, but no less small games in their own right.

If you want "free games" to be restricted to complete games handed out for free, you will find nothing in there from any large or mid range publisher that is less than 20 years old...
