Digit goods can't be shared in the same way, not legally at least and to be quite fair the way steam handles things has always been known. It was all in the SSA, even back when I created my account. Highly likely the same since steam became a digital storefront.
Because, as always, the majority of costs is in the development of the game, not in the manner of distribution.
Just wait for games to have the price you're willing to pay. You know, just like with physical copies.
The physical copies are still just a license, it's just harder to enforce the terms of that license. Which could change some day and they will be able to revoke those as well.
Both are real copies, digital is more convenient and I wait for sales so I can get them CHEAP.
Plus a physical disk will degrade over time, digital goods don't degrade.
But looking at the answers, I see why... you people have no spine, you make these companies walk all over you, and your best answers are "It's always been like that"
We could change this together, if we all stopped buying games until we had actual ownership.
But you wouldn't have the disipline to do so
Nah, my spine is intact and quite strong thank you.
As I said, I do it cause its cheap and convenient and other reasons I'm not about to list. I have my reasons, and I'm happy with my decisions so, thats all that matters in my book.
