Heck, game developers have said they rather have that people pirate their games than buy them from that site.
There's lots of crimes that occur on the Internet. But the often international nature makes them difficult to do anything about. Laws in other countries may not make it a serious offense. Or some countries aren't that interested in upholding laws or addressing complaints from foreign businesses or individuals. Imagine your local sheriff taking action due to a random complaint against you originating from Singapore or Madagascar or something. It may not be on their top ten thousand things to do list. Same is true when the situation is reversed.
And even if there is some interest it can take years and years for some action to occur.
Which is why you don't use scammy grey market sites and get all outraged when scams occur on them.
I have used G2A for years and never once knew it to be a "scammy grey market" site and never had any issues buying games or productivity softwareover dozens of purchases. In fact, I never knew that there was such a thing as "scammy grey market" sites list that I should have known to commit to memory. I have had major health issues over the last year which have taken me away from gaming sites, but I can't imagine the world devolved in such a short period of time. In any event, I maintain my right to be outraged and submit that nobody has the onus or the expectation for blame for the ethical violations by others.
It was at G2.A that it happened. The seller even claimed that the site is allowing those sales under a "pilot program".
Lol, those are the who is who of shady keyselling sites.
People don't change, only your awareness of the universal constant does.
Live and learn. Lots of people don't want to know because they benefit from not knowing, and tend to get hostile that something "beneficial" to them has downsides and consequences. Lots of people are willing to ignore the warnings until they get dinged.
Nothing devolved, you just weren't very conscious of some long standing facets of reality. That site being a scammy grey market site isn't a new development, Valve has been filtering it out for years, because it's a scammy grey market site.
Because again, people don't change and the love of ignorance is as typical as their sleaziness.
It is odd that you presume to know me and my mind despite knowing nothing about me and your conclusions contradicting everything I say. Have you been evaluated for antisocial personality disorder? The aggression and hostility is unwarranted and your feedback is not helpful and is obviously not intended to be helpful.
Also, it is absurd to say that people do not change. In your "facet of reality", there would be no point for behavioral studies, psychiatry or psychology, no such thing as rehabilitation and no hope for young to ever mature. But you are just being contrary and would've said that people do change if it refuted me. Stop trolling.
Well going by your multiple statements of "it's never been a problem for me" and "people being dishonest/scammy/sleazy is some kind of new development" I don't think my comments are wild imagination.
And it's pretty typical when someone gets pegged as this or that to resort to, "you could never fathom the depths and complexities of me". But you're a person and that's lots of things known about people, regardless of how special and unique each one of us may be. Pretend to be unknowable if you want, ego is a hell of a drug in my experience.
Everything else is just you projecting your dissatisfaction with my comments, which I understand, no one likes being told the real problem is their ignorance when they'd rather have their arguments, claims and beliefs confirmed.
People, as in humanity, doesn't change. Not really. The fact that it doesn't change doesn't mean we understand everything about human behavior or that there's nothing to learn. Lots of things don't change, but we're still learning about them.
And don't get me wrong, a person can change. Society can change. But people, we don't change so much as you might think. Dishonesty is a core part of human behavior as much as our tendency to make assumptions and rely on ignorance as a substitute when our knowledge fails us. Those things ain't changing in our lifetimes.
At the end of your day I'm disputing your silly idea that people have devolved in the last year as an explanation for your ignorance on the matter. Nothing has changed, you just weren't aware before, IE ignorant. It's not a crime, it gets us all on occasion. It's part of the human experience. And I'm human as anyone. Are you going to pretend not to be?
I meant no offense, and I understand my post may rub you the wrong way. Such is life.
