Steam and Epic Games account how to connect.
I got one Rise of Industry online( not on steam purchase menu). During the install it asked me to connect my steam account. I connected my steam account. Then it asked me to install the Epic Launcher which I did. The game got installed. It shows up on the Epic Launcher but doesn't show up on Steam. The epic launcher account setting show its connected to steam but I dont know how to proceed. I wish to play the same game by launching it from Steam. Cant make another purchase.\

You can't.

Connecting Epic to Steam is only useful for finding existing friends. Your games on Epic are separate from your games on Steam and cannot be transferred over. They are competitors.

Yep, as stated buying a game on one platform doesn't give it to you on other platforms unless the developer offers that which is rarely done.

Steam keys bought on Steam that belong to Origin, or Electronic Arts, can be redeemed on Origin as well as Steam, but keys bought on Origin cannot be used on Steam.

Yep, hence the bit about it being done by the developer.

Note that stopped being a thing and EA just like Uplay requires you to use their custom OAuth now

the best you can do is register the EXE application files to your steam so when you play the game your steam friends will see you are playing it.

that is all

There is one exception to this. It is not a transfer, but some developers will give or offer Epic users Steam keys.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
