Is trading game keys allowed?

I just got a Star Wars Jedi: Survivor key from buying an AMD CPU, I am not a big star wars fan, and so id like to trade someone for a game I would want, and vice versa they get a game they would enjoy for the same value. Like for exmaple i would want RE4 Remake as a trade, or something of equal value.

Trading anything outside of a Steam trading window is at your own risk, and not to mention, really stupid.

Unless you're willing to risk giving away your key for free, don't do it.

key trading is not supported and has nothing to do with steam.

you get scammed, steam support will be unable to assist. scammed items are not returned. such trades are DO AT OWN RISK

There is no guarantee that they will give you the key you want in trade as game keys do not fit in the Steam trade window.
Find a friend or someone you trust to trade with.

how much is an AMD CPU worth? sounds like you already accepted a bad trade, to be honest.

how much is an AMD CPU worth? sounds like you already accepted a bad trade, to be honest.

It was a free giveaway that came with the cpu. He didn't trade for the key.

Yeah, my son's GPU came with Wolfenstein New Blood and Control game keys when he bought it a few years ago.

Probably just a sales gimmick. This was back before the GPU hysteria so stock levels were good and there wasn't the street market problem during the crisis so there was more competition.

Some GPU promos now make sure you download their tool to authenticate the GPU to let you redeem the code.

Why are they coming with games?

They've been doing this for a few years now. Pretty common for retailers to bundle Nvidia GPUs or AMD chips with whatever triple A game they're partnering with. Some use it as a way to promote their services

They only stopped during the GPU shortage but once the crash happened they started right back up.
