What are you waiting for, to remove the Jester award?

The jester award is only used to anonymously discredit posts/threads, and is often abused.
I'm currently in a thread where someone, we don't know who, is "automatically" giving jester awards to all my posts and the ones of the OP.

this wouldn't be a problem... if everyone would be a person mature enough to not judge a thread/post by the amount of jester awards it has but solely by its contents. but that's not the case.

that's why jester awards can be abused. because there's full of people who give them a precise meaning ("this post isn't worth reading").

not to mention, that since these awards are so easily handed out, there's a ton of people who open troll threads or threads with deliberately controversial (or outright dumb/insulting) topics just to get as many of them as they can. which isn't healthy for forums.


also, I'm pretty sure that once removed, it would readily be replaced by the "Hilarious" award. so I think it would be better to also modify the icon of this one to make it look less ridiculing/mocking.

not really, I was 100% sure they wouldn't have given me a jester if I'd have asked outright. since they want to spite me, they wouldn't make me a favor. I was just mocking them while hopefully also convincing them to stop giving jesters to normal posts of mine in that thread.

btw I wonder, is there any way to get rid of awards received, even if it means losing points? I'd happily get rid of the 24 jesters I have even if it would mean losing 7200 points.

Your post history shows you already know all about the trolls and baiters in those game hubs. If you dont want Jesters, stop posting in them.

to be fair, the one person I think it is (but I'm not sure) is someone who would participate in discussions I was actually interested about. it's not my fault if these people exist and happen to write in the same threads as I do.

Secondly you cannot "know" the intent of the person giving the award instead you "assume" it is negative, malicious etc.

(INTENT: Something that is intended) - "No one is a mindreader to know the giver's intent".

In turn this leads to:

(ASSUME: To make a supposition; suppose or believe:) - As in, it fits your narrative to have it be negative malicious etc which goes back to "No one is a mindreader to know the giver's intent".

And finally you have to "prove" the intent of the giver but you cannot unless they actually state the reason why.
