Having Surgery, Need a Controller based game to play
Hey all, Happy New Years!

Having surgery later in January and will be forced bedrest for 2 weeks and limited walking /lifting for a month.

I need some game suggestions that are 100% controller friendly.

I have the original Steam Link and steam controller, but I plan to use a xbox controller I have for pc gaming(I dont own any consoles)

I am looking at these 3 games to help me pass the next month

1. God Of War(I know nothing about the series)
2. Dying Light 2. (I have the first one, it was ok)
3. WWE 2k22 (I have the 2k20 and its the worst pc game I think I own) Hoping they fixed it.

4. Your suggestions?

I cant sit at my desk for 2 weeks and limited for the next 4 weeks after surgery, so I need a controller friendly game, not planning to use a wireless mouse and keyboard, need to keep it simple.

Thanks

Most games these days have pretty good controller support.

As a rule of thumb for me:
  • over the last few years, I've played three F2P online games (Warframe, Lost Ark and Star Wars), and none of them has working controller support (even if they claimed otherwise)
  • for point&click adventures, controller support hasn't been particularly good either. Its less of an issue, but too annoying anyway so I used keyboard/mouse instead

So, I wouldn't expect controller support for these.

I've also encountered other games where controller support was just bad, usually added as an afterthought and they basically emulated a mouse...

Still, rather than trying to figure out games that work well with a controller -- there's a ton of those -- I'd start by looking at games that you are interested in, and find out about their controller support..

All the games I listed above have controller support. So I am asking what others think of those games. I dont watch youtube videos on games, because people dont know how to upload spoiler free content anymore.

WWE 2k20 is 100% controller supported, but has a major input issue and xbox controller reads as a ps4 controller and the devs never fixed it.

Other games work with a controller, but need a kb and mouse to start. I will be bed ridden and using Big Picture Mode to exlcusively game when I do play as I recover.

Having stomach surgery, so there is no chance of using a keyboard and mouse for about a month.

I am 99% a keyboard and mouse player too :(

I need some game suggestions that are 100% controller friendly.
Anything that was originally released on a console that eventually came to PC are usually the most controller friendly games. Some off the top of my head are Uncharted, Marvel's Spider-man, RDR2.

Based off of personal experience, Batman Arkham games are very controller friendly as is the latest Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Earlier Lego games can be hit and miss but the last one was done well.

If you're into fighting games or racing games, those are almost always good for controllers. MK11, Injustice 2, Street Fighter, Tekken, Marvel vs CAPCOM for fighting. For racing just blindly throw a dart and see where it sticks.

My 2 cents anyway.
