PC gamer Arrogance
By being here I hope this proves that I am indeed a pc gamer if it is not obvious, my confusion is why is the "pc master race" gamers so arrogant. I mean their not just rude to console gamers but to any other pc gamer that does not own a 3k computer that can stream everything in 4k 144 fps. If I am not mistaken less than 20 percent of homes in america even own a 4k TV, and 4k does not make the game play any better and to be all honest anything above 60 fps doesnt really make a significant difference. I own a high end PC and can run most games on ultra including witcher 3 and Fallout 4 (but thats an easy one). I just dont know why to put someone down. in any form asking for help theirs always that one pc master race dude thats like "I can play 20k 3000 fps get a new potato' or "console peasent scum" I dont get it why is that fun?.

My two cents, Having an awesome PC is nice, but everyone cannot afford to build one, I have a pretty HIGH end machine, but heres what most of those so-called "Masterrace" PCers dont tell you, having a high end PC does not mean that every game runs perfect and awesome, for instance, alot of games I play I have to disable sli to play them, others I have to limit fps, some of my favorites like Fallout 3, I have to use Affinity to disable cores to run the game, even some of the newer games dont run sli. Something else that erks me, when gaming online like Bf4 some people with fast internet like to blame stuttering and rubberbanding on those with slower internet speeds, 1st not everyone has access to faster speeds, those that do, not all can offord them, and it's not always the slow internet speeds that cause the problems, over loaded servers, and low quality servers contribute also, I have 1g internet speed, not many have my speed, I have logged onto servers where there was no one under 100 mb speeds and experienced the same lags/rubberbanding. I got my start on consoles, wanted to be like the big boys so I started building PC's eventually dropping almost 8K on my current machine only to discover a new set of gaming troubles. Be happy with what you have, enjoy your games and quit picking on those that are doing the best they can with what they have and can afford.
People who pick on other people because of their hardware do not represent what the master race is about.

The "master race" was a silly idea to begin with anyway.

That's why it's meant to be fun? We can already see by OP how unfun it gets if it's conveyed (and/or) perceived as "serious bussiness" (◐‿◑)

Yeah, kinda what it's going for. PC Master race took their name from an attack on PC culture. It's one giant silly joke with a lot of cool people involved, and then some people who give it a bad name on the side and spread rumors, like with any other group.
This thread restorces some faith in gaming for me, it is sad that the loudest of the pc gamers are the most toxic, (hence go in the comments of any youtube video where a console is mentioned and you will see the first comments are pc master race comments). I have a high end machine, and it still has its fair share of problems, and yet even with a good pc I still miss console exclusives, or the fact that most console games actually have local split screen games, (really upset i cant play borderlands with my buddy on the same pc). No gaming system is a potato (the weakest of systems such as idk lets say 3DS is has some of the best games on it IMO) and no resolution you game on determines if your a real gamer. In total I dropped over 1k on my coputer and set up, its not cheap and not being able to afford it does not make you poor, it just does not make you incredibly rich.
There's going to be toxic people in just outside of every group that give people a bad name, we should all stop trying to stereotype each other into enemies and learn to ignore those that act unfavorably. Anyone can call themselves anything and give people a bad rep. Which is why every group has a bad reputation yet are somehow often full of cool people
Well it's also an unfortunate choice of name -- "master race" -- for people to rally around.

IIRC Yahtzee came up with the term as a mockery of PC gaming elitists, then various PC gamers ran with it and started using the term to describe themselves as a point of pride.

That wasn't the original intention, you dolts.

Now unfortunately gamers -- especially the more vocal ones -- tend to be the competitive and more aggressive sort, so they'd feel less of a need to try to specifically to pick a social label that was more inclusive. Would also probably be less snazzy of a name too -- "PC Gaming Fandom" doesn't quite have the same ring to it.

..."PC Neighborhood"? "PC Gaming Network"? "PC Gamers"?

Well in any case there also really ARE those people who are very vocally opinionated about how PC is better than consoles and actually relish arguing on the internet about this. That just fits right in with the elitism that was the point of the mockery in the first place.

Whoever used this wording first must have slept heavily during history classes. And should be strung up by his balls, roasting over a small fire, the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

And everybody, who uses is now in earnest should hanged beside him, suffering the same fate. How the hell could someone use this sentence from old and thanks to god dead Adolf?

Gaming Pc are better than consoles. That is not elitism, it's a simple matter of fact. The amount of money spent on them and the possibility to upgrade the technical hardware over time guarantees that.

You cannot believe in earnest, that a 400$ non upgradable toy is better than a 1500$+ gaming PC, can you? I do not see any elitism in there. Only how earnest you see your hobby in general.

A real gamer has this "toys", additional to his gaming PC. Why should he feel "elite". He uses the "toys", too!

The people I really don't like are not the console users, or the PC fanatics. I really dislike the inventors of the imaginary target group of "Casual gamers". It's the fault of this category, used by the braindead publishers, that games were dumbed down, so that most games lack any feeling of success and acomplishment nowadays. Anyone really played Vanilla Elder Scrolls or Fallout games? Then you know, what I mean..

If I recall correctly, it's Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw, of Zero Punctuation fame, making fun of PC gaming elitists.

The people he was describing then took the name and ran with it.

So you are telling me, that someone took irony serious, and used this sentence on himself proudly? Einstein was right. Stupidity is infinite.

Poe's Revolving Door strikes again!
I'll game anywhere: PC, XBOX, Playstation, Mobile, I even love the Megatouch units that sit on top of the bar at bars. I was just at Dave & Busters and played $20 worth of Time Crisis 5 (it has 2 pedals now)... I'd even be down for some Risk old fashion board game style.

I'll be 42 this week, and I will be gaming as long as I can hold a gamepad. Platform is all subjective... It's simply a preference.. Consoles for the most part = Issue free and for people with a busy work and family life this is what we want. We just don't have time to tinker with settings and plugins and hardware. We just want to start a game and know it's gonna work right the first time. With that being said... I would never downplay PC or Mobile.. as they also offer me much enjoyment.

I am somewhat a noob to PC gaming.... Do you guys really call yourself the master race? Thats a bit much... Don't ya think????

We didn't call ourselves the PC Master Race first, we got called it and rolled with it.

I'm pretty un-cool as it is... If I start referring to myself as the "PC Master Race" My cool level could easily diminish by 8%. I don't even know if I have 8% to spare.
