HOW TO ACTIVATE DIRECTX 12 MULTI-ADAPTER WITH TWO IDENTICAL GTX 970 CARDS? Do I still need an SLI Bridge?

I've been reading a lot about multi-adapter feature of Directx 12 and how much it has improved the graphics processing. BUT, all I've read is just about the combination of NVIDIA and AMD cards. Of course I know it would work with NVIDIA + NVIDIA cards. All of these articles about Directx 12 is just about the performance upgrade of GPUs, but there are no articles on how to activate the multi-adapter feature. The question is, is multi-adapter feature a passive feature if I already have a Directx12 driver as it says in my dxdiag? Or do I have to manually activate it? And, do I still need an SLI Brdige for identical NVIDIA Cards?

So you mean multi-adapter feature is only applicable for NVIDIA+AMD? because it sounds to me that I still need to use SLI for identical cards even if I'm already using Directx 12. This is all just confusing. (Assuming that future releases will support the multi-adapter feature)
