Games for Old People?
My wife & I bought my Mother in Law a laptop for Christmas. She was shopping for herself a windows laptop for her own enjoyment. Anyways, she's 68 and her hands dont work very well due to injury/surgery... But none the less we know she'd like to do some light gaming on it. I'm looking for suggestions that might work out well. Games where speed, or lots of intricate controls are needed are probably out of the question. Mostly looking for more casual clicker type games, slot machines, puzzles, maybe card games.. stuff thats easy to pickup and play.

I know she'd love some type of casino slot machine game, but I cant seem to find any good options. just online stuff with real money or free junk riddled with ads and microtransactions. Anyone know of any good ones? Would prefer something local and downloaded rather than browser based as she's not the most tech savvy and will likely struggle with using a browser/website to game.

I was thinking about Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Trilogy, as she likes those crime investigation documentary shows a lot.

She plays some jewel color matching game on her phone.. So she'd probably like something like that.

Anyways, what do you guys think? Any older folks here? What do you play? Anyone have a grandma or Mom that games? What do they play?

Thanks.

Jigsaw puzzels and hidden object are gentle on the hands and arms and really good for the mind muscles.
As she is a newby to computers lets also be gentle on her eyes.

These puzzels are free to play and she can select a suitable size

Cooking games .

You're welcome! :smilecat: I know there are also few other Bejeweled games but that's the first one I thought of.

If she likes match-3 games, maybe she'd enjoy the Heroes of Hellas games as well?

Colorful JRPGs with memorable characters and gripping stories and don't require highly trained motor skills and hairtrigger reflexes.

And the holy trinity of Columns and Tetris and Puyo Puyo. They do require a real gamer's motor skills and years of practice to get good at, but are certainly good for brain exercise.

Blegh. "Bejeweled" is a filthy casual ripoff of columns.

If you want a matching game without time constraints, I would say Huniepop or Tabletop Simulator. You're never too old to try getting into ancient games like Go and Shogi and Xianqi and Fidchell and Reversi and Hex and Mahjongg.

It is not a gambling game, but is a unique card game.
