Looking for a medieval turn based strategy game
I used to play this game on DS called Age of empires: Age of kings. I have been looking on PC for an alternate but cannot find one. I am not looking for something like total war where the battles are real time & not civ where you advance into modern warfare (correct me if im wrong on these). something entirely turn based, Thankyou

I recommend Battle for Wesnoth. Not on Steam but completely free, so no harm giving it a look: http://www.wesnoth.org/

You will like age of wonders its a fantasy style turn based game, try AoW2 its cheap and very good!

Thank you for the suggestions, AoW2 & battle of wesworth look good so i will give them a go. Divinity original sin isnt what i had in mind but looks good & is something i would consider

Even though it is not turn based I would recommend Crusader Kings 2 (it is in the current Humble Bundle). It is the most accurate representation of Medieval times and warfare that you will get. The combat is purely strategic but after you get the gist of the game (which can take some time) you will see that there is nothing better around.

Id say avoid CK2 and FE both really bad games imo, CK2 needs you to spend loads of time learning the game and then the combat is very lack luster!!!

And FE sucks, Warlock is better and so is AoW2!!

Then perhaps Eador: Masters of the Broken Worlds? Really liked that one. Though all of those don't meet the requirement of realtime combat.

I second Eador. And he said he specifically didn't want real time combat.

Eador is still really buggy.
