Heros and generals is americans Vs germans though so you could always try that.
Multiplayer is gone, but for a single player campaign this is probably the best you can get.
Just this, Even tho all sides did evil things during the second world war. The germans will be forever seen as the bad guys due to the mass murders and killings. Yes, some of the german soliders were pure evil (not talking about the leaders) but most german soliders only did they duty like other soliders of other nations.
Only games I can think off in FPS terms are battlefield 1942, the rest are like strategy. Never heard of Iron front tho.
You're not wrong there, there are plenty of stories of american/british/russian soliders shooting german prisoners as well as torture. Like you said, there are some that are pure evil and most who just follow the leader.
i would also recommend Battlestations Pacific, it's a really good game with interesting mechanics
