Good FPS Co-Op Campaign Game?

Hello Community,

Just a quick question...I was looking before for a co op fps game that my wife and i could play. We ended up in the end purchasing CS:GO and Orion: Prelude as we liked the gameplay for ourselves.
However, my question is: Is there a game out there that one can go through a whole campaign in co op?
Not a game where it supports co op and forces 2+ players. But one that i can just play with her and yet play through a campaign.

I was looking at Insurgency and Day of Infamy. But i wasnt sure if that had 2 players only. Day of Infamy surely did not look like just 2 players.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

(We also do not want to play Arma 2 or 3, if in case someone ended up trying to mention that)

Yes renting your own unless you get to know an admin that would allow you to use his.

I'll pass a link to this thread onto a Steam friend who's an admin, he has a few servers so he might let you occupy it alongside your wife as it's passworded and only used by his group.

Howdy OP, I'm that steam friend Ren mentioned. Insurgency Coop and it's different game modes could work for you. You would need to host your own server, depending on how many bots you want to have? Cost could be $20 to ten dollars more or less on slot count. You can then password protect it to prevent the uninvited from joining. That's what I do on my servers.
My servers have increased bot count and difficulty set high, meaning that only two people playing on it get killed quickly....no matter how good they are. What you would want is a 'stock' Insurgency server for your stated needs. Friend me if you like and perhaps I can assist you more that way?

Battlefield 1 is a good one for FPS but the campaign doesn't show until the full game comes out. I also don't know if it will be coop compatible.

Hmm I did look at that and it does look interesting.

However we want an fps.

It does not seem we have much choices hah and would have to sacrifice in order to get part of what we want.
We will take another look at insurgency and borderlands.

Isn't any of the Call of duty games campaign co op ?

The description you're asking kinda fits for Portal 2 muliplayer co-op. Although not all co-op games have the entire series playable like Portal 2 and Call of Duty: World at War for instance.

All major "Serious Sam" titles are great fun to play in coop: First Encounter HD, Second Encounter HD, Serious Sam BFE and Serious Sam 2. Hours upon hours of lighthearted FPS-fun, you can play every campaign fully with one or more other players. Now they even have "Fusion" which lets you start all titles (except SS2) from one "Launcher" (instead of installing them individually)

----In Far Cry 6, it's true that at the beginning you have to play the first island mission alone until the end, but after that, when starting, the friend gives up the option that someone else can get in next to you, with whom you can play the campaign together.
---In Battlefield V, there are courses where you can play with a maximum of 4 friends whom you invite to play against bots. My daughter and I played this all the time, protecting each other, it was really good.
