Can someone steal my credit card info just by buying a game on steam?

Hi guys, i was thinking of buying a game but the thing is, i'm afraid that someone will steal my credit card info (call me paranoid if you want) and after the attack in 2011 i feel paranoid more than ever...

I don't personally use a credit card to buy on Steam, but a lot of people do. I would say it's pretty safe. As long as you can tell the difference between an official and a phishing link.

From a 'being hacked into' side of things, that doesn't help in any way as they would still have your card details in their database. It only really helps for sites where you can purchase without putting details back in every time.

The steam store is a reputable online shop (with over 125 million active users!). For added piece of mine, just don't leave your CC info saved when making purchases.
