How to get nexus mod manager on Steam deck and anti cheat?

Honestly I regret getting my Steam deck but I want to keep trying to like it as I've only had it for a few days.

I saw mixed stuff on getting Nexus mod manager? Is it possible as a lot of the games I like use mods from there and this is my first time using Linux and I'm confused AF.

Also I like a game called Hell Let Loose but I can't play it because of the anti cheat the game uses Easy Anti cheat, is there a way to get it to work on the deck?

Wrong. The Steam Deck is literally a PC, just in the form factor of a handheld. It's running Linux and not Windows though, and Vortex is a Windows program, so you've got to work around that.

Hell Let Loose is using EAC, which technically supports Linux now, but it's sort of up to the developer to allow it.

There is a custom version of Proton called "Glorious Eggroll" that some have had luck with. Might give that a shot first:

Wrong. With AMDs help, they even managed to make it windows OS compatible.

@OP this is also the only way I know hoe to get nexus mods to work. Maybe a guide how to get nexudmods on linux might help if you wanna keep steam OS.

the steamdeck is literally a computer. you can dual boot it with steam os and windows if you like.

Search the Steam Deck Reddit; users there have posted guides for how to get Nexus mods running in certain games. Most likely Vortex is added as a non-Steam game and then the games are launched through the mod loader - don't quote me on that though. Obviously, games that don't need their mods "pre-loaded" can just have files dumped in the correct directory and should work fine.

For EAC, while it works, the developer must opt in for it to work correctly on the Steam Deck. So, it would help if you talked to them.

1. Nexus mod manager isn't made for Linux, so have to use wine to try get it to run via Linux.

2. Anti cheat does support Linux, dev just has to enable to support Linux, unless Dev doesn't want to support Linux.

3. Idk why you want to use mods with a game that uses anti cheat, as there chance you get ban for it.

4. It up to you, but you can install windows 11 on Steam deck, but you lose a little bit of performance using a heavier OS that uses more resources.

I feel like I should also mention that with mods from Nexus you can install them the old-fashioned way too. Download them manually from the site, then plug them into your game by copying the files over to their proper locations.

Easier just to install Windows on the Deck.

Just like your phone, xbox, ps, switch.. etc - they are in fact all computers.

Steamdeck is a literal PC that handheld mobile, yes can use it as a normal pc if you wanted.
