Is there plans for Mario games being added to Steam?
I'm curious if Nintendo plans to add Mario games to Steam? It would be fun having Mario Kart or super mario.

Go and ask Nintendo, they are the only one who can give you an answer.

My guess would be no, never going to happen, Nintendo do not need Steam they have their own platform.

They’ve made no public plans to do so AFAIK.

Yeah like Nintendo would ever do that. Not in a million years.

Mario is a Nintendo thing, they never gonna let him go.
There are plenty of "alternatives" though, over the years many games have adopted the same concept.

Is that a trick question or a blinder one? Nintendo's actions in the last few decades have been rather obvious in their intention to keep their stuff to their platforms and while you could argue about Sony bringing their stuff to PC as well, they're merely following Microsoft's suit. Both of those companies have been doing roughly the same for years, competing for the same target audience. Nintendo on the other hand has been Nintendo, doing Nintendo things, doing things differently from the others, doing so successfully.

Going from the past, there's not a snowball's chance in hell.

Nintendo's consoles survive almost solely on the fact that their IPs are exclusive. Unless Nintendo decides to abandon making consoles all together they are never going to do such a thing.

As if nintendo would give their games away now that Steam Deck has made portable computers come out of the ground like undead.

People been saying similar things for a while for Forza games or Spiderman, Gears of War, Heavy Rain... the list is insanely big. All of them were said to never come to Steam or even PC at all.

Now that "PC" gaming is not an actual thing anymore as consoles start adopting the same architectures and mobile gaming became actually feasible - especially with the Steam Decks release - Nintendo must have some serious issues to not plan releasing their games "everywhere".

Nintendo can make everything themselves, they simply do not need their games on other platforms.
Nintendo is also a cultural thing, those things are comparable with monuments a like, something that seems to be well protected by their makers, and they rather keep it that way.

Uh what? Nintendo has historically kept their IPs to Nintendo hardware.

Pretty much. Although they are missing a huge market opportunity, it's pretty commendable that they are sticking to their guns and protecting their flagship brand. They don't really care about what others are doing and retaining their IP's to their own hardware has proven to be a huge success and keeps the devices they have unique. I can't ever see Nintendo changing their core philosophy even if they had an ownership change because as said, it's almost like a religion.

They may miss a huge opportunity in the market, on the other side, owning a "unique" IP gives them a strong position in the market granting them a lot of money anyway.
I like that they stick to their roots, something that creates a "bridge" between the new and old gaming generations.

Looking into the past, how many Mario games have been ported to PC?
