Steam stopped tracking playtime
I've played Train Sim World and American Truck Simulator the last couple of days, but according to Steam I haven't played anything since Nov 15.

After a session the playtime stat and last played date update on the library page, but not on my profile or on the store page. And when I close Steam and restart it, the playtime is back to the old number and last played date says Nov 15 on the library page again.

It's as if the playing sessions from the last two days never happened.

Am I the only one with this problem?

The same thing has happened to me twice recently. I suspect that, in my case, it's to do with cloud sync. I've disabled that for the game I had the issue with but still need to test my theory.

I disabled cloud sync, started a game and played for about an hour. This time the last played date was updated, but the problem with the playtime is still there, it was updated on the library page, but not anywhere else. And after restarting Steam it had reverted to the old value on the library page.

So it solved one of the problems, but not the most important one unfortunately.

I have the same issue with age of empires 2 definitive. Steam don't track date and game time. I purchase this game after beta keys where revoked. I don't know that revoked and purchase can cause such error¿?

I played antoher game and track works fine. What's going on? :lunar2019deadpanpig:

I made a thread when it started happening with me
https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/3356799628309143067/

It started happening in the same day I installed a steam update

This main account "A.M.R." not updating any "playtime" or "last played on"
My secondary account "Scorpion_Abdo" is working fine same laptop same internet same everything

=============================
This started at Nov 16 was stuck at Nov 15, late at Nov 16 I restarted my laptop and both games I started for a quick test updated last played on into Nov 16... it was late so I didn't play long to see if playtime would update.

Didn't log into main account on Nov 17, and now it is 1 am Nov 18 local time Steam stuck at Nov 16 .. I'm in Hitman 2 right now and "recent activity" still stuck at Payday 2 on Nov 16.

I contacted Steam support and was told to logout from the Steam client and log back in (not just restart it). That seems to have fixed it for me.

Obviously during the few days the issue persisted I have logged out and restarted the laptop many times.. but after reading your post I decided to also log out from Steam on the web browser too (I have this main account auto logged in all the time from my google chrome)

The issue now fixed everything back to normal.
I have Enhanced Steam (the discontinued one) on chrome.
So maybe the fix is to log out from all (client, web browser even maybe mobile - I use SDA so I didn't log out from that one-)

did not work for me... is there a way to log out of EVERY device at once?

Last night, after I had tested the fix suggested to me by Steam support, I just quit Steam as usual, without logging out, hoping that it was back to normal. But today's session wasn't tracked for me. So it seems I have to log out and log back in every time?

This is getting really annoying!

Actually as i logged out of the mobile app it started working for me again. Really weird. For anyone reading; Log out of EVERY app/device. Then login again. I'll try to get some clarity regarding this from the Steam support.

Not just logging out of every app/device I also have to restart my laptop too.

This is getting so lame, what the hell was in that last update ?

I played Doom 3 for at least 14 hours in the last few days, and playtime was correctly displayed in the game's counter next to the big green "PLAY" button. But, for some reason, I was unable to post a review because playtime was still 0 minutes.

I went to my Steam profile and yea... 0 minutes.

After restarting Steam and the game it fixed... or better, it RESTARTED counting my playtime. Now I'm almost at the game's final boss, I have 10 achievements and my savegame can prove it, and 1 minute of playtime.

I hope there's a way to fix it...
