You might consider Balders Gate 1 & 2, generally they are highly regarded, Pillars of the Earth is a little slow, and the build take a while to get use to but not a bad game.
Agree, without any context to OP's question this is pretty much all I have to say.
Favorites Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2.
Don't like sims or army building stuff (Spellforce).
DA2 has much better graphics but it was an overall lazy attempt to leech off the success of the first Dragon Age. It's story is very bland, you have to travel to the exact same places dozens of times, and they tried to fill plot holes with failed comedic relief and completely unrealistic of building "relationships." Combat and game play could be fun (in my opinion) and there were some pretty cool parts of the game, but overall it was big step back from the original. If you are set on a DA game, just skip straight to DA3--it deserves the popularity that it has gained over the years.
Black Geyser has fun game play and solid story line (though not very original at times) but much older looking graphics. But even with the much poorer graphics, the overall game is much better than DA2. So...If you want to decide between DA2 and Black Geyser, stick with Black Geyser.
