Good simple kids games
Hey

I am looking for something simple and accessible for a 4-year-old. My daughter is very interested in playing, but I am struggling to find something age appropriate.
I am thinking a simple and forgiving platformer, but am very open to suggestions.
I really hope this is the right forum, I am very new to this!
Hope you guys can help.

Put put series look rather child-apropriate
There are be parent websites for exactly that question (already answered, I mean). You could try looking at the LEGO licensed games. You can't lose there but I don't know if they aren't too complex still for that age. Also, you might have to figure out which license because depending on the source material they might be a bit scary, even if everything is plastic.
humongous entertainment
I don't have any specific games in mind, but Match 3 games might be a good start. If your kid has a particular fondness for a theme (pirates, dinosaurs, candy/sweets, cats & dogs, etc.) you can see if you can find one with a very simple story that is kid-friendly and involves one of their current interests. Find one with an "Easy" or "Casual" game mode, so they aren't overwhelmed with ramping up puzzle difficulties.

And this ^^^.
Humongous Entertainment's Freddi Fish series have some really kid-friendly games, and I think most of them are on sale right now.
Look up Columns in the Sega Classics Collection.

Stupid, casual "Bejeweled" is boring.

Also, the original Puyo Puyo, and granddaddy Tetris. I must have been 4 when I first played the Spectrum Holobyte release, though I was more into the pretty artwork than the gameplay.

DEFINITELY try Alpaca Stacka !!! A short, VERY adorable game.

Also, try:
HIDDEN PAWS
HIDDEN PAWS:MYSTERY
SUMMER PAWS
MARVIN'S MITTENS
MILO AND THE MAGPIES
MIMPI
MIMPI DREAMS
MUSHROOM CATS
MUSHROOM CATS 2
MY BROTHER RABBIT
HIDDEN LANDS
TINY LANDS

That's all I can think of right now.
I'll add more, if you still need them.
Good luck.

My kid has been playing Minecraft since about 2 years old, put it on creative mode at first and leave them to figure out what they can do. Now 4 years old and he knows more about it than I do even though we play multiplayer together all the time.
OP- you mentioned being interested in a simple platformer type of game- a friend with a 4 year old daughter just got her started with this one, and says it is quite good, though you might have to help a bit until they get the hang of things:

I can't recommend https://www.myabandonware.com/game/the-secret-island-of-dr-quandary-26b enough. Though some of the puzzles can bewilder adults. My admittedly simple strat as a kid was just to grab the biggest available prime number first and then the largest possible number descending after that and hoping for the best. It was all in the initial deal rather than any strategy.
