How can I get my knife back?
Tell your friend to follow the steps.
The knife is gone.
Valve isn't responsible for user actions that involve them handing over their credentials to some scammy phishing site.
If you keep using those sites you both will just keep getting scammed.
You think {LINK REMOVED}KeyDrop.com is a scam?
idc about that bot, but in my opinion Valve, Steam or whoever should give back items stolen like this and ban accounts that do that. I know I should be aware of edgy sites but come on it's just unfair
Quick note, scammers don't steal the account the second you log in. They sit on it for a while before lifting it - it's done to avoid suspicion. Also, popular shady Youtubers, Streamers and Influencers shilling for a known scam site also helps.
What do you expect Valve to do? If you want trading scams to stop, then stop supporting scam trading sites that keep that market alive. That's the solution.
Also, Support use to return items but then CSGO players abused it, so that was the end of that.
Incompetence is not compensated.
They should go a step further and ban accounts like yours that promote scam sites.
That would help other players that aren’t aware of such sites existing and foolishly visit them and unintentionally give them their login information.
