Ignore, block, and report the user.
Don't engage or cooperate with anyone who's painting you a scary picture ultimately designed to get you to cooperate "or else". No business really operates that way.
Steam admins don't need your help or to communicate with you to review a report to see if you've actually been doing anything. Admins don't typically need user help to admin their own systems.
And what I mean you can report me for anything you want. Make up wild claims or believable claims. But the reality is upon review our accounts don't interact. And nothing in this forum posts warrants moderation. So what would I have to worry about? And in that same vein what do you have to worry about concerning some random claims by some other user?
but thanks for the reply snakub plissken
Sure. It's not the most ideal thing. But usernames are hardly treated as secure data. If they were they'd be encrypted in the database like passwords are, and in many systems they're just not. And some systems rely on your email address as your user name, so anyone who knows your email knows your user name for those accounts. No one panics over that. How do you access your Google account?
If the username is all they have it would be really hard to gain access to the account if it was otherwise properly secured. Valve would pretty much have to drop the ball to make that happen. And given the number of scams and user account issues they deal with daily me thinks they're experienced enough not to do that.
Use mumble or a tox client like a normal person.
A guy just told me this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
But I, believed it. when they said they were checking the report file, I searched this up.
And I am happy that I could block them.
I didn't click on a steam link where they asked me that it's my account or not. I can ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ read doN't except me to do that.
You do realize that the account name, which is on the receipt and should not be known by anyone else than you, is different from your username that we see right? As for email as account name, people can change email, no?
