It's a common scam.

Ignore, block, and report the user.

Don't engage or cooperate with anyone who's painting you a scary picture ultimately designed to get you to cooperate "or else". No business really operates that way.

Steam admins don't need your help or to communicate with you to review a report to see if you've actually been doing anything. Admins don't typically need user help to admin their own systems.

And what I mean you can report me for anything you want. Make up wild claims or believable claims. But the reality is upon review our accounts don't interact. And nothing in this forum posts warrants moderation. So what would I have to worry about? And in that same vein what do you have to worry about concerning some random claims by some other user?

I don't think a screenshot of a reciept does anything. I think it's just part of the strategy to prime you to provide more and more sensitive information as the scam progresses. Scamming is a profession after all, there's art and technique to it. Don't underestimate the depth and sophistication scammers employ.

If you gave them something with your account name then they have a partial credential.

Sure. It's not the most ideal thing. But usernames are hardly treated as secure data. If they were they'd be encrypted in the database like passwords are, and in many systems they're just not. And some systems rely on your email address as your user name, so anyone who knows your email knows your user name for those accounts. No one panics over that. How do you access your Google account?

If the username is all they have it would be really hard to gain access to the account if it was otherwise properly secured. Valve would pretty much have to drop the ball to make that happen. And given the number of scams and user account issues they deal with daily me thinks they're experienced enough not to do that.

Believing anything heard on Discord, ever.

Use mumble or a tox client like a normal person.

This is a common scam that ends the same. The scammer just switches the "lead in" message around like the one you've gotten. Sometimes it will start with something like "vote for my CS:GO team" or some bs like that. Don't click on any links and report the profile. There's a chance that the owner of that account may have not sent that to you and has had their account taken by falling for the scam which is often a phishing site that looks similar to steam and they enter their login credentials.

I'm shaking right now.
A guy just told me this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
But I, believed it. when they said they were checking the report file, I searched this up.
And I am happy that I could block them.
I didn't click on a steam link where they asked me that it's my account or not. I can ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ read doN't except me to do that.

You do realize that the account name, which is on the receipt and should not be known by anyone else than you, is different from your username that we see right? As for email as account name, people can change email, no?

Unless that person you are quoting from back in may is either subscribed to this topic or accidentally stumbles upon it again, likely they will not see your response. They also seem to be stating that usernames aren't treated as secure data, which they are correct. Furthermore they seem to be aware that there is a difference between username and account name as they mention it later in the part you omitted from their post.
