NEED HELP according to someone on discord they reported me by accident and now they want me to contact a "steam admin" on discord ?

can someone tell me if this is legit i do not wanna lose my account for a accidental report or to people who are pretending to be someone who they are not i did not recieve any email from steam about this just a discord message from a person telling me to contact a person named Alan Yates on discord who is aparantly a steam admin ? he wanted me to send screenshots from the latest purchases and got a verification code wich he wanted me to send on discord
i do not trust this at all and whas wondering what i should do about this can someone help me ?

Correct, if this is about about a Steam giftcard and the payment was made to Steam / Valve then it's most definitely not advisable to perform a chargeback because that will result into major issues.

So the money was sent to steam from your bank. I wouldn’t refund it through your bank as it will be seen as fraud and your account would probably be blocked from use

Normally, you would not have Discord installed. There is no reason why Valve would contact you there, if they can simply use your Steam application for that.
Contacting you through Discord makes as much sense as contacting you through MSN messenger...

Just uninstall the Discord application, if that gives you trouble.

You missing 1000 bucks?! Call your bank - stop your card. Do the obvious things.

This isn't a matter for the Steam forum anymore. Obviously, you gave the scammers a whole hunk of information you shouldn't have if they’re taking money from your bank account.

Maybe, you should get your (older) sister involved? You seem a bit in over your head here.

As said above, this is a fraud matter now so you'll have to deal with it through your bank. You evidently had more than just a chat with the scammers as they somehow have your personal information.

People can't just take money from your bank account - there are measures that prevent this; they clearly were able to get past those because they knew everything about the account holder. They got that info from you and not the Steam servers - it's impossible.

Anyway, please contact your bank or the person (preferably an adult) in control of your account immediately.

This is no longer a mere Steam issue.

Just to be clear - there is nothing anyone here, including Support, can do for you.

Obviously it has been compromised since the money was used outside of Steam on a non Valve product. You should be contacting your financial institution.

@IceLucidify - Go deal with your bank issue with the bank, there is nothing anyone here can do for you. This thread is clearly no longer about the OPs issue either, and you have a serious issue(s) you need to resolve with your bank.

Don't use "remember my payment information" if you'e going to use 3rd party sites.
Don't use your Steam Login on 3rd party sites.
Scan your system for malware and remove them
Change all of your passwords for all of your accounts when your system has or reports no infections, recommend going to the bank to change your banking password.
Have your bank cancel your banking card and replace it with a new one if it appears to be compromised. Work with your bank to ensure no one has the ability to move money out of your account and there's no strange charges.
Let this thread die, and go resolve your issues. It's no longer about the OP, it hasn't been since May. The OP only replied, once. Try not to hijack threads.

this type of scam almost got this account
