For as long as you get awards, ANY awards for ANY content and in ANY place on the site, the number on your Badge will grow, so you really shouldn't bother with searching up each and every individual piece of content where people might've given you an award, as it's nearly impossible to track (because it's anonymous and you can't see who gave you an award and where or when). Just look at the counter on the Badge, everything else really doesn't matter.
i gave you a profile award so you can see what it looks like.
I also should add that awards are obviously not free, as they cost Steam Points (which are not easily obtainable, as you either have to buy things, or, if my memory is right, there's a 14 day/two weeks-long cool down after someone gave you an award, after which you should have some of the points you've spent be returned to you...or it's the other way around - you get points for the awards you gave to someone, I dunno. Haven't done it in a while, so I don't remember/forgot how it works exactly). Also, awards are an alternative way to increase your account's level, as they give you 10 EXP per each award that people gave you (OR you also get 10 EXP if YOU give someone an award, so it's a double increase on your side), so it's an additional method of leveling up if you don't want to/can't collect (maybe because you don't have enough money to spend on buying cards from the trading place/market) cards to turn them into game/Steam event-specific Badges. Protip: NEVER EVER purchase overpriced-to-all-hell rare "Foil" cards BEFORE you fully finished building up the "standard" Badge for your game first (and also NEVER EVER spend money on buying "booster packs", they're absolute trash. They DO have a chance of giving you a Foil sometimes, but it's absolutely NOT worth it due to extremely low chances of them dropping a Foil, and boosters are expensive, so it's a total waste, utterly useless. If you absolutely have to buy cards, do it manually, by each card individually). This is because standard Badge has 5 levels to level up (so you have to collect 5 sets of same cards, which will net you 500 EXP in the end, 100 EXP per each level), while Foil has only ONE (100 EXP) and THEY'RE TWO SEPARATE INDIVIDUAL BADGES, so it would be extremely stupid and utterly unprofessional to spend a lot of money on trying to buy Foil before you fully leveled up your standard one to it's maximal level of 5 first and foremost.
This is because absolute majority of Foil cards are EXTREMELY overpriced on the market, most of the time prices on some individual Foil cards are being artificially inflated by local hucksters just SO INANELY HIGH (waaaaay past their actual worth/relevancy) that it's downright DISGUSTINGLY lame and miserable. It happens because Steam doesn't give a single flying rat's F about the fact that users abuse the hell out of the marketplace due to them being allowed to manually set prices for items to begin with. It's a total and utter mess.
