Steam spent my Steam Wallet Balance without my authorization
Hi guys, yesterday my Steam Wallet Balance was spent on a Dota 2 item from user "laner", item is The Leech Queen Legs, i don´t ever played that game and my account is protected with Steam Guard, so i don't know how could've this happen. I saw on the forum another user with the same issue but in 2015, same method, same game. I already submitted a ticket for this issue but no response yet from Steam, i already scanned for viruses, etc. Is there someone else with the same issue?

Sounds like your account is compromised.

Sounds like being phished indeed.

Secure your account. There isn't much Steam support can do, items don't get returned.

There is nothing to explain. You gave away your account login/pass/code to a 3rd party site.

2FA is just an extra security layer - if you are compromised, it doesn't mean a hijacker can't spend money on your account.

2FA is a lock. A good one. But the best lock is pointless if you give your keys to a stranger. Which is what you did.

the only thing that would make any sense is that at some point u put in steam information on a fake steamcommunity.com login page. I've seen it a lot and especially more frequently. I did see that recently especially I have been reached out by a lot of people that are "giving away" all of the csgo skins, and they send u a fake trade offer site thats identical to steam, not a new method at all but what probably happened is that buy mistake u didn't double check the URL to see whether or not it was spelled properly without gramatical mistakes.

Complete these steps :

1. Scan for malware. You can download the free Malwarebytes here https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deauthorize all other devices here https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App here : https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke/Delete the API key here https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (the API key text box should be empty)
