Where to buy a steam gift card at a discount.
I little while back I bought a steam gift card and saved like $10. I'm interested in buying another but don't remember where I bought it from last time.

If anybody knows where to buy a legitimate steam gift card at a discount (saving at least $10 otherwise its not worth the headache), please let me know.

Thanks.

There really isn't anyplace short of a local store or chain having a deal which is rare.
Does not exist for the simple reason the amount of money on the card is pretty much 1:1 what the store had to pay for it. Gift Cards like that are "walk in" products, meaning they are sold at no profit but are expected to bring in more customers into the shop.
So the chance for any discounts are close to zero.
Online you usually pay about 5% more then the card value since the online shops need to make some profit.

In most places it's not legal to actually discount cards for specific amounts.
Well there's no place or store who sold discounted steam gift card

Some retail stores have had in store discounts for them. But that means it was only available if you physically went into the store.

And yes, it is possible but very rare.

The only way you ever find such a place is, either it's going out of business which is rare and does walk-in mostly, or they're trying to get rid of them for good from their store which is very unlikely.

So if you're hoping to get a Steam card for cheaper is unlikely to happen, unless someone want to take a lost on it. It's always been 1:1 value, or you're paying more when buying it off from a non authorized individual reseller online.

Authorized resellers, such as Walmart, Target, Gamestop, EB Games, or whatever will sell the cards at 1:1, unless the state/province/country demands taxes to be applied on top of gift cards. Store do take their cut, which comes out of Valve pocket really as they get less of the money from the store that sold it, but you get the full amount redeem on your card. Online retailers are the same, unless they're non authorized individual reseller which they either charge 1:1, or more, and normally these non authorized individual reseller do it because people can't get the locally that supports their payment method that not available as an option on Steam, such as bitcoin, or whatever.

They occur during sales sometimes like black friday, club stores like costco sell gift card bundles at discounts from time to time, etc. All designed to get you into the store where you will probably spend more money.

I thought i was pretty clear. What do you not understand? Shops that offer physical gift cards usually dont make any money with them, they are there to attract more customers to the store.
So called "walk in" products.

Thats the reason why you wont see many discounted gift cards, maybe in some bundles during Black Friday.

That's not always true. Membership retailers sometimes do.
Ogami qualified his statement sufficiently where he wasn't making an absolute claim. So you're saying it's not always true that you won't see many discounted giftcards? Or are you just so quick to be contrary you're gonna pretend he said "never"?

I'll use deductive reasoning to assume you are replying to me.

I'll use the same tactic to assume that you did not read his original post. SPECIFICALLY the first sentence of his post. Even more specifically, THE FIRST THREE WORDS OF THE FIRST SENTENCE of his post.

I mean... you want to defend someone, but you can't be bothered to read the first three words of a sentence? Or, are you having difficulty with overall comprehension of the first three words of said sentence?

In edit-By the way, you can get a small discount on a $100 Steam Gift Card at Sam's Club. Right now. Today. If I'm not mistaken, today is not Black Friday.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
