Prevent people from seeing your screenshots & artworks?

Hello!

I've seen some profiles that have in their artwork / screenshot showcase an image which can be seen but if you click on it it tells you trhat "You don't have permisson to see it"

Which is kind of weird since i'm SEEING it, but i just can't click on it to give it a like or something for example,

Am i missing something? or is there a workaround that allows you to showcase a screenshot & artwork but prevents people from clicking on it?

That's the curious thing, for example, if you have an artwork showcase, and you change that specific artwork privacy to "Hidden" or "Only friends" it will be removed from your profile completely (from the artwork showcase)


So there's something else that some people do, because you can see their artwork on their profile, but you just can't click on them

None of the privacy settings do what OP is describing.

Yo, OP. Have you tried viewing the screenshots/artwork again?
I've gotten "User has no screenshots/artwork available for your viewing" messages on users with public pictures, only for said pictures to become visible after refreshing the page a few times. Could it be the same bug?

As far as i know, you can only use images that are public in those showcases.

It's possible that those users may have just used their web browser's console to do weird stuff.

That is most likely it, (server issues) which have been common lately.

The community has had several issues with even loading profile pages.

It seems that this 'thing" can be done only with guides / workshop items

I get the same issue when accessing that... "stuff" under their guides.

I don't know if it's just a bug because the item was likely removed by support for violating content rules (but something on Valve's end affected that).

It wasn't removed, since you can see it on his profile too, i'm just curious about how he has done that, being able to showcase those guides but preventing people from clicking on them?

But regarding the title of my post, it seems that it can be done only with guides & workshop (i've tried to hide some items from my CS:GO workshop, and see if i can showcase them, but i can't since they need to be listed as public, so not sure how the ♥♥♥♥ they done that)
