3rd Person ARPG Hack & Slash?
Just curious if there are any good 3rd person ARPG Hack & Slash games?

I mean legit Diablo/Titan Quest/Grim Dawn etc type gameplay but 3rd person view rather than isometric? Amazing, fast paced, & fluid combat, massive hordes of enemies at a time to mow through like grass with an OP character... multiple classes to choose from, versatile character build system, armor sets, tons of loot & mods to tweak your character build etc?

Closest thing I could think off of the top of my head was WoW or similar MMORPG's but thats not exactly what I'd call fast paced or fluid combat, much less a versatile character build system.

There are plenty of games with awesome fast paced and fluid combat like Darksiders or maybe Devil May Cry.. They check the combat box fine but they lack pretty much everything else.

Anyways, I dont have a problem with Isometric at all, just curious if it's ever been done in 3rd person. Would make for a really cool gaming experience, I think.

Did you read the OP? I've not played a few of these, but I know most of these are literally NOTHING like what I inquired about lol.

Maybe Dynasty Warriors games. They are thrid person and and have hordes of enemies that you simply mow down

The only game that comes to mind is this:

BUt even that's more along the line of Witcher.

They don't make many 3rd person brawlers because well, the third person cvamera isn't well suited for environmental navigation.

Isometric is generallly preferred or some variotion there of.

My apologies, I didnt meant to offend you or anything. And not looking for multiple things. Just one.. A 3rd person diablo/grim dawn type game.

Witcher, is a 3rd person RPG, sure. But combat is slow, few & far between, and very challenging. Def not mowing down massive amounts of enemies at a time.

Assassins Creed is the same as Witcher.. Just with parkour and people instead of monsters lol.

Last Epoch, I havent played but it looks to be Isometric rather than 3rd person.

Dark Souls.. You're not exactly mowing down monsters with fast fluid combat when you're just lucky to get through literally any trash mob you come to lol.

I hadnt played Dragons Dogma, looks like a cool game. Not sure if if its a Diablo type game but still looks pretty sweet.

I have Kingdoms of Amalur... Tried it a long time ago, I remember it starting extremely slow and I ended up just going on to something else instead. I'll look into it again.

I think it would work really. Take a game like Darksiders, Devil May Cry, or even Prototype, put it in a more open world environment with waypoints and a map/mini map. loot, and add in classes/skills/talents and you'd have a 3rd person diablo type game that would be a blast.

An FPS like this would work amazingly well too.. We kind of have it with Elder Scrolls, but the combat just isnt there and the loot is meh. Now, Doom 2016/Eternal... If you had an extensive RPG with multiple classes, loot, skills/talents, built around the combat you get in the new Doom games and you'd have an absolute masterpiece, imo. Fast paced, fluid combat, tons of baddies to mow through... Would be a running/jumping all over the map dodging enemy attacks, casting your own spells, or swinging/shooting your own weapons of choice... ripping & tearing watching, loot drop, gaining xp only to make it funner.

PSO2 sounds like what you want but pretty deep into JP/anime culture. There's lots of enemies to slay, tons of classes, randomized loot and all. Kind of plays like Kingdom Hearts x Diablo.

It's more about amazing story and chilling travelling through Velen/Toussaint etc.
I'm a little late on this, but, yes, I've played a single game that fits the bill as a 3rd-person ARPG. As for the fluid combat and hordes of enemies, no, it doesn't have either of those, but here it is anyway: https://store.steampowered.com/app/758080/BloodLust_2_Nemesis/

All I can think of is the "Earth defense force" games but I don't think they are that close. :/

I've been hooked on She Will Punish Them (Early Access, and it makes an emphasis on lewd elements in case you're against that kind of stuff) but someone brought up Bloodlust, which is another fantastic game...you got a decent amount of dungeons to go ham with if you're just looking to kill everything on sight. Other than that, if you don't mind isometric, The Ascent is a pretty good game to try.
