Why i cant purchase DLC for the sims 4

I try to purchase the sims 4 : vampire cut cannot purchase it. the reason is in steam notice is 'IYour transaction failed because you are trying to buy 'The Sims™ 4 Vampires' which requires ownership of 'The Sims™ 4'. Please correct the error and try again.' but i have my own the sims 4 already so how i can purchase this DLC?

Do you own the base game on Steam? If not, then you can't purchase the DLC. You can only buy DLC on Steam if you also own the base game here - owning it on Origin doesn't count, as the DLC would not work with a game you own on a different platform.

I bought from CDKeys a few month ago. TT that's why i can't buy from here. it has discount 50%

Sims4 product keys activate on Origin, not Steam.
So you have to buy the DLC from Origin.

You're welcome. If you had to activate the key on Origin, then you can only buy DLC there. I think CDKeys does sell Steam keys as well (not sure if it does for the Sims) so if it had been a Steam key, then I think you could have purchased the DLC here also.

Maybe Origin will have a sale soon.

There are no Steam product keys for Sims4 as EA only provides EA Origin product codes for their games.

If you get the base game on Steam you can use both the DLCs you have on Origin and the once you got though Steam. The DLCs you have on Origin won't be visible on Steam but you will see them when you launch the game.
