Just want to mention that if you don't have a phone number registered with yahoo and forgot your password you're done for. Happened to me and their support refuses to help me DISPITE my yahoo mail is still linked to my gmail.

If you have a backup email, with that you shoud be able to reset password on your own in that case

They really are there to help :)

Unfortunately you can't with yahoo mail even if you linked it with gmail (tried 4 times already). They'll only accept your phone number (whoever thought this was a good idea needs to be fired asap) for verification to change password. Support doesn't help as they only faqs and not actual live support. Only way to actually verify that I'm the owner of the mail is to remember when I created that yahoo mail 8 years ago or get access to my old phone number back. Why phone number is so important? Idk since yahoo forced people to get a phone number in 2016? just to continue using it.

Tldr, yahoo mail is absolute ♥♥♥♥ and nobody should ever use it

Luckily with the recovery process, they won't need access to either the email or phone number tied to the account to have it returned as long as they provide something listed in the proof of ownership section. It's done because scammers usually change the account details' once they get access.

As long as u have all proof of ownership+no being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when writing the support ticket=support will help u very fast
