My steam wont work, someone please help?

When i click on steam to use it, I then get the Updating Steam Screen for a couple of minutes and then it makes the windows error sound and a ittle box pops up saying "Steam - Fatal Error" and then under that it says "Failed to load steamui.dll" and the only thing i can do is press either an OK button or the X. Could somoene please help me on what to do? I've tried a few different things and even completley wiped my whole computer clean to download it again and it still does this? I have no clue what to do....

Have you checked your computer requirements and make sure they are met and you have all the video cards etc that are required? Driver support etc.

Yes, I've used steam perfectly fine before it just is like this all of a sudden?

If you've 'wiped your computer clean' then something is not installed correctly on your computer. Make sure that your firewalls and virus scanners are not trying to tag Steam processes. If you're running windows 10, it's notorious for resetting these toggles, and removing or forgetting the lists of safe programs.

Chances are, the dll got sequestered or quarantined, by one of those programs, and is unable to be used by Steam.

To re-register steamui.dll file, do the following:

Press Windows key + R to bring up Run window.
In the Run dialog box, type cmd and then press CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER to open Command Prompt in admin/elevated mode.
In the command prompt window, type the command EACTLY as below and hit Enter.

regsvr32 steamui.dll

I'm having same issue as OP. After zero system changes. Just randomly started happening today.

I tried the above method, and got the following response in the cmd prompt:

"The module "steamui.dll" failed to load.

Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files.

The specified module could not be found."
