Top 3 games of 2020

Curious what people would rate as their top 3 games of 2020 are. Must be NEW titles fully released in 2020. Not an expansion or DLC. New or sequel titles.

Cyberpunk is OK if you think it'll be released this year and if you think it'll be better than anything youve played.

For me, "Death Stranding" , "Control" ( technically a 2019 game but was released this year on Steam) and "Crusader Kings 3".

so its not ok to name games from 2019 which got released like in december but its ok to to "vote" for a Game not even released?

Per the rules that I suggested for the awards the Steam "year" should run from 1st November previous year to October 31st this year. That means that the games would have to have been released for nearly a month prior to the awards to be nominated that year. So games released on Steam in November and December count their eligibility in the next year.

My problem is that since I'm a "big sale" only kinda purchaser I almost never play games in the year that they are released - and that would be the same for a big chunk of the community.

That's why I feel the Steam Award shouldn't be "Best" of the year but "Most Wanted" - the game released this year you desired the most whether you got it or not.

It is the one big problem with the awards. It's very rare for me to have owned and played every game nominated in a category and for game of the year I've not played any. But if they had game of the year 2015 - man I'd be on the ball then.

So applying my Most Wanted (and I'm pretty sure it was released on Steam this year but ... elsewhere ... earlier) of the Year was Borderlands 3.

PS. If they had an award for "Best Use of a Music Track Released in the 1970s in a trailer" that would be Borderlands 3 too. As well as some of the best openings in gaming (I felt 3 was weaker than the others - YouTube) the Borderlands series has some of the best trailers in gaming.
PPS. That SHOULD be an award category - best trailer.

death stranding is a joke!! and yeah none mentioned will be close. This year will be blah software side this year was an awful mess like borderlands 3 the game nobody wants. 2020 was poo so next year cyberpunk 2077 is registered so i will not care till then because so so games deserve nothing.
