Can someone explain why talking about game exploits is a offense to the steam rules?
Title says it all

Because it falls under the rules on encouraging cheating.

but a game exploit is something already in the game that can be taken advantage of by everyone nothing like actively downloading a cheat engine or something of the same caliber

Just because its in the game doesn't mean its something you should be doing and isn't cheating that is why its called an exploit and not a feature.

No offense but if someone found out about an exploit I have zero doubt that they would take full advantage of the exploit and likely encourage others as it gives a advantage in some way or another and I am willing to bet that you yourself have used quite a few exploits in a few of your over 1000 games so saying its something you shouldn't do seems rather redundant, I mean its hardly comparable to cheating as your taking advantage of something that everyone else also can take advantage of

Talking about an exploit in the forums is inappropraite. Most games have a way to report things on closed channels

The forums is not where you should be discussing them

Exploits are a gray area. Some people consider it cheating, others don't. It's a topic that also can cause arguments and such. It also depends how it gets talked about.

I assume this is about a game hub, in those the game devs/publishers are in control. Often enough they don't like talk about exploits, no.

nope I don't use exploits because there is nothing more boring to me than a system without a chance of failure and again cheating isn't decided by how many players can do something or not its decided by if a thing is allowed by the devs or not.

his uploading to YouTube is essentially encouraging it as now over 100k people know of this glitch and some, not all mind you, are definitely gonna try it

Though I understand what you mean by nothings more boring than a system without failure I also have to slightly disagree as just because one uses a exploit it doesn't necessarily mean that there's absolutely no way of failing, using an exploit simply lowers it a notch or more in some god mode cases and another point I feel as though I need to express is that in some ways exploits are needed by some people, some people being either competitive gamers or even newbies

People knew about it months earlier since it was a bug introduces about 7 months ago. Add on top of his YouTube channel, his Twitch streaming, there aren't many that actually abuse this one since the game has no anti-cheat what so ever, been out for 2 years, and cheats are used freely by a huge amount of players without recourse. Cheating is rampant in all the CoD games, so much so, most CoD streamers gave up on the game and hope Vanguard and its supposed in-house anti-cheat will actually work. They should have stayed on Steam and used VAC.

I'll be honest I had no idea that CoD had 0 anti cheat system, can you at the very least report said cheaters or is such a thing a vain act?

There is an in-game reporting feature, yes. Does it actually do anything? Even Marksman, with close relations with some of the game devs can not say if it does anything at all or if it is only for piece of mind.
He usually has to report it directly to the devs on their private Discord channel with video proof to get them banned. And every single one he did with the direct method was banned very soon after.

Must admit I am really surprised as CoD is such a well known name that you'd think that they would have a reliable anti cheat system and I must ask has this been a long time issue or more recent say 2018-2021?

When Activision-Blizzard was still releasing CoD on Steam, they all had used VAC. Once they left Steam, they had no anti-cheat. Their other games through Battle net have anti-cheats but not CoD titles. They are going with an in-house solution for Vanguard so, we'll see what happens there. They could have just used EAC for free. IDK...
