I tried adding funds to my Steam wallet and it already has been like 5 hours. Should I cancel the transaction or what?

No you should let it do what it needs to do. NEVER 'try again' or cancel. That will only ever complicate it.

Sometimes you have to wait, the issue isn't anything you control. Meddling with it isn't helping. Impatience isn't a virtue.

You can't add specific amounts to steam as far as I know. This is not the OP's problem, don't hijack threads, use the search feature and read steam's support pages instead.

I've had this problem a few times, I've always just cancelled it and redid the transaction and it was fine.

I cancelled the transaction and didnt get my money back it just says ”covering funds”

That is exactly the opposite of what you should have done, as I stated in my post. Just because some random dude didn't have a problem doesn't mean that yours will operate the same way.

The system needed to go through all of its motions.

I'd strongly suggest, WAITING until you see a change on the account and funds, until then don't do more.

It appears due to an error in the purchasing process, the transaction failed.

You have not been charged, but your payment provider may have put a temporary hold on the funds.

You can try your purchase again at any time. If you continue to have trouble, please try your purchase from a web browser instead of the Steam Client to see if that resolves the problem. The web store is available here.

The funds are in hold by my bank so my bad

Well it's good to know WHERE they are! Now hopefully you'll be able to move them into your steam account and buy stuff lol
