"A Hat in Time" and "Psychonauts" stand out the most. The latter isn't really "modern" , though it's sequel literally just came out.
"Spyro: Reignited Trilogy" shares more similarities, which isn't surprising, given that the original trilogy on the PSX was from the same era. The remake is still good fun today.

There is just something about Bugs bunny and Taz that I liked everything about it, kinda like Rayman 2.
