Phone Linking Between Multiple Account
Does linking a phone number to a brand new steam account cause the accounts to link if it is already used on main? What if i unlink it first and then linked to my new account? Steam won't answer so has anyone ever tried it or knows anything about this.

If it is *currently* in use, then one would assume that yes, they become "linked" by virtue of being on the same phone number. that's the entire point, I thought, of using the same number more than once.

What is the problem here, or issue you might be having?

My problem lies with trust factor. No matter how much i play, it doesnt go up so i was thinking of creating a new account when i get a new pc but i want to add my phone number for authentication and higher trust factor. My main has low trust.

I don't think that has anything at all to do with trust factor? Multiple accounts aren't tracked "per player", their stats, I believe, are tracked entirely per-account only.

no, steam does link accounts. trust factor does carry over to linked account. so if it will link my accounts i rather not link my phone number to my new account. that way my new acvount's trust factor wont be affected.

Trust factor is base off actions taken in game, that means if you're killing your team mates, or getting reported, and getting cooldowns for the reasons they may be, then yes this will affect your trust factor.

AFAIK CSGO demands for unique phone# for prime matchmaking anyway. For Steam accounts, there's no downside to having several accounts on the same phone# but for certain games, it's one number per account and one account per number.

Trust doesn't decay like MMR does. You should come play some matches.

We are still working on vacnet and Trust. We are aware there have been some negative experiences with Trust lately and are working on identifying and fixing the issue.

And don't forget this...

Steam Trust: The technology behind Trusted Matchmaking on CS:GO is getting an upgrade and will become a full Steam feature that will be available to all games. This means you'll have more information that you can use to help determine how likely a player is a cheater or not.
