All lives matter not allowed in avatar
Steam just deleted my avatar because it said "all lives matter". This is the world we live in - and for the record I'm a former American and don't live in the US anymore. Where I live (and wherever basic common sense still applies) the phrase "all lives matter" is not only the opposite of "hate speech", it's laudable.
But without any stated reason my avatar was deleted, i was banned from changing my avatar for six days, and all the while hate-mongering devs who have images of Hitler in their game are just fine. Steam, if you think this is the kind of hint that will make me go away - think again.

So this is how Valve says thank you to someone who buys from them on a daily basis, essentially.

All lives matter is hate speech...heavens help us, this world is beyond saving.

Maybe you should read the TOS instead of ignorantly fuming on the discussion boards.

The terms of service mention all lives matter?

Thank you, but I am a user. 1180 more games usery than others, it seems. Otherwise, wish I could contact support, but there's no way to do so.

Ok, found the contact box all the way down. Still, if all lives matter is considered hate speech by Steam, then the community certainly should know. After all, we wouldn't want WHAT HAPPENED in many parts of the world to recur in our community.

Yep. And thanks. Jessica Whittaker with all lives matter superimposed, not allowed. Wonder if they'd delete George Floyd with black lives matter superimposed?

The racists love to play victims dont they

Valve says thank you to racists in the exact same way. GTFO You spending money doesnt mean you get to be a racists POS. Dont like it? LEAVE. Go away forever. No one cares.

Valve doesnt need racist customers. You're fired.

ANY X Lives Matter can fall under the "prone to huge arguments" clause in the discussion guidelines. It's a very hot topic right now, and quite a few people use Steam as an escape from the politics of the world.

(edited to remove first part)

Thanks, but this needs to be clarified. Either that or no more custom avatars. After all, how can we know what's offensive? Saying you care about all people isn't offensive in the universe I come from.
Ern 10/ago./2020 às 23:26
I dont believe you care about all people. You just say that to demean black lives matter movement.

No, it does not need to be clarified. You need to follow rules better. Because 100% guaranteed

*you already know why this was an issue and you're using this to bring attention to your own racist agenda*

How is saying all lives matter racist? And as if you care about black people. Doubt you've ever seen one.

Thanks for pointing that out. Will experiment with this later. So a BLM avatar is equally liable for deletion? Also, I had a Winnie the Pooh/Xi Jinping avatar for over a year and I know it was reported. Never removed.
