sticky controller button

my xbox 360 controller's A button is very sticky and it's very uncomfortable to click. when clicked, sometimes the button doesn't come back up (although it's still only input a reaction when clicked) it's still functional but it's just uncomfortable to use. any tips how to fix it without full teardown?

probably a useful information: this problem started when i hold A to hard while playing mario kart on an emulator

You either clean it or get a new one.

Get a screwdriver, open the gamepad and check what's wrong. Usually, when buttons get sticky, cleaning it with spiritus helps. May not be the case in your case, but open it and check what's going on inside.
