Be well aware there's is no official site period. Those 3rd party sites for trading, and gambling, are not run, nor are they own by Valve/Steam, or the publisher/devs for the said games, when you give them your items, the items is no longer yours, and Steam support will not help get items back.

Those 3rd party sites are owned by people that has nothing to do with anyone. Hence not official.

Do these steps to secure your account, don't skip any.
1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)

Most common reason people lose items, have their account hijacked, or has a bot API key on the account on Steam, is most commonly related to those 3rd party sites as they're phishing sites that makes fake Steam page to trick you into giving your login info. Yes it's does happen, if you do research on here you will see how many people keep falling for this, which is no better than getting an email from someone you never met claiming to be your long lost brother and to be a Nigerian prince asking money from you, now you should realize how big of an oops you did if you login to a phishing site, or giving your items away.

Most common reason people get accounts hijack for any service really are as followed.
- Sharing account infomation with others. <--- Very common with impersonators, pretending to be Steam admin / support.
- Logging in on phishing sites. <--- Very common with skin gambling sites.
- Downloading / Installing Virus / Keylogger on your system.
- Using public devices that has keyloggers, such as cyber cafe, school computers, and etc...
- Storing your login credentials on a unsecured service that others has access to view.
- Using same login credentials for all your things, or using same login credentials on another service that had a data leak. Yes it does matter because even if it not related to Steam, if using same login credentials, hijackers will try to use those credentials to see what services you use with those credentials. https://haveibeenpwned.com/

Nothing else. Ever.

Steam Market via one's own browser is probably better because the Steam client's browser sucks.

Sounds like an issue on your end.

Ain't my fault that the Steam client's bulit-in browser lacks tabbed browsing, lacks a free text entry URL bar, lacks browsing history, etc.

That is irrelevant regarding op's issue. If you have a problem with steam's browser, deal with at your leisure as it works fine for others.

Back to the actual issue at hand, the browser would suffice for them to use the market.

It's one of the easiest things to use and there's no reason to have either especially to avoid scams on their own platform. Not hard to middle click something to bring up a window either.
Also as The Living Tribunal states, your issue has nothing to do with the OPs issue.
For everyone i can suggest this - web and their support for buying skins today i got my skins with help of their support

How do you know the skins aren't stolen or laundered after being obtained through fraudulent means? If this is the case then your account may end up getting locked because you are in direct possession of such material whilst the site walks away with real money and washes their hands of the items.

This is why you should only use the Steam community market and trading platform which is safe and whereby you are protected and exonerated from receiving potentially fraudulently obtained items as long as the user isn't involved.

Dunno why people put their accounts at risk just to save a few quid.

I don`t know, the OP was already scammed, and now he is even advertising another shady side.

And yes to risk your account, is a real problem, nobody like to get a trade ban or even worth an account lock.
actually i think it's the same shady site lolol

edit: yep, i checked my browsing history. it's the same shady site

they probably re-hijacked OP's account lol
