This is apparently just an "error" that will be fixed within the week.
From the 13th. Clock's ticking, it's been 3 days now.
I still don't approve of the double standards. I don't approve of the unnecessary restrictions and I REALLY don't approve of some developers getting a handwave simply because they are more mainstream than others, or it would be "too difficult to censor".
But if they just fix the error and restore the game so I can buy it when I want, then I guess I will at least put the torch out.
I'm keeping the pitchfork.
If this is the reason it will be solved in some way.
I do not going to talk about or value content regarding Adult material, to what game's can or can't show. This part was enforced and that's steam's choice.
If anyone else need a fast way to look into the game forum.
And I think you are misinformed.
As for Muv-Luv, if you came for the "smut", you are playing for a weak reason. Alternative is a 50-hour tearjerker of a read, and you get 2 H scenes from the entire thing.
Also... while I'm on the topic...
I want to call out the differences between "Old-Style traditional" H games, that embrace the route system like Seasons of the Sakura, and "Modern" Skin games, like most of what Sakuragame churns out. The name's a bit ironic, actually.
I am going to classify all the games that follow SotS format as "Adult Romance" and the others as "Eroge" because that's basically the long and short of the difference.
There are plenty of games out there where the bulk of the entertainment is forming relationships with people, learning about others, reading stories of complication and connection, seeing others endure trials and find resolution, and being a part of that. It is simply a different type of fantasy, and in many of these Romance games, sex happens to come up. That's what makes it Adult Romance - the presence of sex and nudity - but really, you play games like Season of the Sakura because it's fun to experience the stories.
Then there's the modern, proper "Eroge" where the fanservice starts early and never stops. The entertainment here isn't reading a story about other people and their hearts and minds and paths through life. The entertainment is looking at naked tiddies.
I'm not going to preach and say that one is absolutely better than the other. I have an enlightened view of gaming - entertainment is what it is. If you think it's purile to fantasize about taking women's clothing off, I would say it's purile to fantasize about shooting strangers in the head and running them down in cars. I happen to find random violence a lot more offensive than random sexuality.
They are both escapes from reality. Fantasy-driven entertainment.
Adult Romance is not Eroge. Romantic involvement fantasy stretches way past Eye Candy fantasy. Dream Daddy Simulator falls into category 1. Dead or Alive Xtreme falls into category 2. Neither have any strict nudity.
Just food for thought.
