What are you creating?
Free or Costly? If costly, what's the budget range?

•Filmora Video Editor
•VSDC Free Video Editor
•iMovie (Mac)
•Movie Maker (Windows)

My favorite Free software is: HitFilm Express
It has almost every feature you will ever need, but runs a hefty amount of proccessing.

If you're new to video editing and need a quick video to edit I recommend, Movie Maker or iMovie. But if it is a complicated video and needs a ton of control HitFilm Express or VSDC works for me

They are all for PC, so you cannot get them from the app store

If you just want to edit a video, cut, paste and that stuff then this is probably the best free one: http://avidemux.sourceforge.net
It works on Mac, Linux and Windows and it's free and open source.
I'm not sure it can do effects and stuff like that but if you literally just want to edit videos then it works.
It might be a bit tricky to learn at first but it has youtube tutorial and instructions on the site.

If the features aren't enough then this might be better: https://www.openshot.org
I had some problems when I tried it so I stuck with avidemux but maybe it works better for you.
