Do you get Steam XP for buying games or is it just crafting badges?

Im 27 xp from my next level and I was wondering if you get xp from buying games or doing anything else on steam apart from crrafting badges?

buying games gives you very little xp until you get a different badge for it. ex... 1, 5, 10, 25 games owned...

crafting is the only reliable way to get xp.

According to that, you will only get 1.1667 xp per game you buy at your current count.
