Multiplayer games for a lan party in July
Hey guys! I'm looking for ideas for multiplayer games to play at a lan at my place in late July. I'm hoping to find some games on the steam sale that might work. We usually play shooters or rts games, but I'm tired of sixteen hour rts games that never end. :) So short games this time. We have played a lot of killing floor and left for dead one and two in the past. I'm all for good fps games (have the division and doom and siege and some others on the steam sale on my wishlist right now) but I'm actually wondering if there are any survival games we can play with more than four players? I have a bunch of survival games in my wishlist too (rust, 7 days to die, wild 8, starbound, town of salem etc.) but I'm struggling to find which of those can take more than four players. It would be kind of fun to drop in a game and resource gather and build a shelter together and survive zombie attacks etc. Thanks for any ideas.

Minecraft is pretty much the go-to in LAN survival. As for fun in LAN, Quake II or III and Unreal Tournament GotY (99)/2004 should probably be at the top of your list.

I love Valve's older GoldSrc titles such as Ricochet and Half-Life 1 DM, and if you can get players together you'll have a blast.

I don't think we are a minecraft crowd. I know the old reliables are out there, but there have to be good options that aren't fifteen years old too guys?

minecraft came out like 2008 or 2009, so its not yet ten years old.

Mostly, I'm naming 'old reliables' because times have really changed. I generally don't check for LAN options like I used to.

Perhaps Red Faction Guerilla: Steam Edition may be worth a look.

2010, but I believe he was talking about my other recommendations-- UT2004, Ricochet, and so on.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk. I appreciate the suggestions. Yes, I meant the older titles. I know we could play left 4 dead 2 again, but there must be new titles. Sashie I'm going to start looiking up your suggestions too. Thanks for the list. I was just playing Seven Days to Die and that looks like it might be fun to try if we can get more than four in together.

Crea looks kind of fun. Resembles Starbound that I have on my list. Same genre anyway. Some of us have Don't Starve Together. I've only played with one partner. Can that go multiplayer where six or seven of us could play together?

Looks like a few of my friends already have Space Engineers too. I might have to check that out.
