Metroidvania with good length, awesome loot?
I'm not a huge fan of Metroidvania games without a look system. Any with good ones?

Shadow Complex is like Metal Gear Solid meets Metroid.

Have that one. Not so good with the loot system so far tho.
Any others?
What do you mean by a loot system? (I don't think I know any such games but I'm just curious for a clarification.)

Like Castlevania Symphony of the Night. You're constantly finding new weapons.

Ah! Well I'd rec the other six "castletroids" but I presume you're already aware of those.

I can't think of anything else that has a completely equivalent loot system, though a number of metroidvanias have a variety of upgrades. Well there's the upcoming Timespinner and Bloodstained, of course, which are I think heavily inspired by the castletroids. And I think Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight is, among the Momodora games, probably the most directly inspired by this.

Maybe Fortune Summoners? Which is a combination JRPG, exploration platformer, and brawler.

I need to brush up on my PC metroidvanias heh.
...Wait! You have the archaeological adventure La-Mulana! Tons of treasures and other items to collect, including five primary weapons, eight subweapons, and a huge variety of upgrades, in what is probably one of the biggest metroidvania games in existence. (Or at least it was when it was made, which was 2005. Some pretty massive ones have been made since such as Knytt Underground.)

Meanwhile, if you want exploration and using lots of tools but not necessarily combat, try Waking Mars. Caveat: the controls aren't as smooth; rather they're a little floaty. (As might be expected on a planet with slightly lower gravity than we have?)

Yes you have a lot of good suggestions. I have La Mulana. I guess I have games already that fit this. I guess just try them out and wait for something like bloodstained. Will try Waking Mars for sure.

I've been looking for exactly the same as you antisouless and today i remembered this game: -Salt and sanctuary. Give it a shot!

Finished playing Dark Siders 3 recently. Not much in terms of loot (upgrading is bloody satisfactory though and there is pretty much always reward for exploration making it worth it), but among the most deliciously hand-crafted metrovania worlds I've played. The way entirely different areas initially separated by hours of exploration become interconnected with unlocked abilities is nothing short of excellent.

I would highly recommend hollow knight, not sure if its the loot system you mean, but its one of the best metroidvanias regardless

Yeah it's good.

The best 3D metroidvania has honestly been the souls series.
