Know any good magic games?
Can anyone suggest some good magic games that are not dungeon crawlers? I'm looking for something where you have to put work into learning/crafting spells. Not like Elder Scrolls where you open a book and the spell is added to your spell list. I don't know if a game like that even exists. I'm more into single-player, survival, crafting, RPG, open world type games. If you know of anything with a good magic learning system please let me know. Thanks guys! :D

There's a good magic game where you try and get a bunny out of a hat

Morrowind has a more in-depth spell-crafting system.

closest thing I could think of is maybe this. But you said not dungeon crawlers, but having roguelike/roguelite elements, it likely does have that. And I haven't actually played it myself(though it does look interesting and I'm likely going to wait for a better discount), so I don't know for sure.

But it lets you name your own spells and what you get depends on what you enter.

This might not be exactly what you are looking for since it is a fantasy 4x strategy game. It does have an extensive magic and forging system though that will keep you entertained as you attempt to master the insane depth of it.

Thanks guys! These all look good! Dominions 4 is even on my wishlist. I've been hesitant with that $35 price tag, but now that it's on sale I'm more inclined. I'm a big game collector so if there are anymore suggestions, send my way! :D

That is cute! It's also along the lines of what I'm looking for.

Elder Scrolls Oblivion actually has a spell-crafting system. It's only flaws imo, are the graphics and lack of sprinting. But on sale, it's definitely worth a purchase. An excellent game.

Yeah, I have Morrowind and Oblivion and I agree. The graphics are hard on the eyes. But they are fun enough to revisit. I haven't played either game in so long I'd forgotten what the craft system was like. Granted I only played stealth characters and I never got into the magic side. I just started a mage in Skyrim and assumed the spell system was similar.
