Massive group invites per day

Do you also get many group invitations per day from bots who want to spread their malicious scam/phishing links?

This is becoming an annoying issue on Steam.

I'm reporting those profiles and block them but it's an ineffective method and those bot accounts sprout like mushrooms from the ground.

In my opinion, Valve should allow users to block Steam group invites like

• Allow all group invites
  
• Allow group invites from friends only
  
• Block all group invites

as suggested in this reddit topic.

This would massively improve the daily Steam experience!

It's a good idea, yes. People have made threads about this before.

For now setting you inventory to private and avoiding popular trade groups stave off most invites.

You are member in WAY too many groups. Those spam bots use big groups to find victims for their spam. I am member in just a few small groups and never had a single spam invite in 6 years on Steam.
Maybe just keep the groups you really use and leave the rest. Should curb the invite spam drastically.

So why do I have to adjust myself to those bots? I want to join any group I like on Steam.
The problem on Steam needs to be solved in other ways than avoiding to join groups.

That's honestly like me saying:
Know what? It's the government's/police's job to keep me safe and crime low, so I'll be leaving my door open because I don't need to adjust myself to be protected.

Pretty dumb, no?

It's a hassle yes, but so is using antiviruses or protection during coitus or, or, or. But until they do eventually make options that ease customers who deal with troublesome issues, you'll have to compromise and either take the advice given regarding groups or deal with the ensuing invites.
Not ideal, but at the moment there's no alternative.

Or just a simple implementation ...
Free accounts cant trade or sell on the market so why not just adding another rule so that they cant invite anyone to a group ?
