Steam Market Listings not showing up
I am trying to sell my M4 and I listed it at a price lower than the current lowest price. I confirmed my action on mobile.

But when I go to the market listings, my sell listing is not showing up. I can see that the item is listed on my own market page, but not on the sell listings.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

I am trying to list 3 skins and they range in price from $2.50 to $260. None of them are listing. Capsules, stickers etc are fine it is just skins.
Interesting, i saw ohnepixel stream yesterday and he selled his gut knife pretty quickly, maybe that was autobuy idk, probably it was

Yes, you can sell if you quick sell at the highest offer price but you can't list if it is higher that the offer.
Steam just being money hungry as usual

Ok I have been thinking about this, and I think I might have figured out what is going on. About a week or two ago steam banned a number of trading bots and users who had recently traded with those bots (as you guys likely know.) This created a large wave of user trying to liquidate their items because they were worried they might be banned, others saw the crashing prices and also tried to liquidate, and so on. In addition to this, the steam summer sale came around which also caused a number of user to sell cs items so they could use that steam wallet balance buy games.

Where am I going with this?

Well, if you think about steam is more or less operating as a bank, where users have investments/savings in the form of in game items and steam wallet funds. Just like any bank, steam likely does the have the liquid to pay out a large number of its customer's investments/savings at one time (which is what this ban wave scare and summer sale where causing users to try to do.) I think this "soft lock" on the steam (and cs market especially due to its high volume) is an attempt to more or less avoid a bank run; The summer sale going on at the sale time means most users would use their newly found wallet balance to buy new games, meaning steam would have to payout those users balance to the game studios. I know this is kind of a tin foil hat theory, but it makes sense if you think about it, and It might not have been intentionally started by steam, but it is at least at least an issue they are choosing not to fix for the moment to avoid mass cash outs.

For us though, I think this just means we more or less have to wait until valve decided they're ready to process full scale market transactions again. I am going to, and you probably should as well, keep my/your items "listed" for the time being, incase it lets any of them through, but otherwise we are forced to just wait. It will likely be "fixed" within a few days of the summer sale ending, but do be warned that item prices will fall with the reintroduction of supply. Good luck, everyone!

Not really, it is more a stock broker than a bank. They don't pay us for the skins, whoever buys it pays. They receive commission. They always receive money not paying it out.

Because the biggest sale of the year is going on right now, it is reasonable to assume game sales will be high. When people use their wallet balance to buy games, steam must payout the balance to the game studios.

It also has to do with the 3rd party website bot owners getting scared and don't want this to happen...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNCc69Xq18s

They were laundering money and crypto using the Steam inventory system through their websites.

They're freaking out and trying to mass selling their stuff hoping not to get banned as well.

:summercat2023:
same problem here.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING STEAM?
$1 CSGO case gets sold instantly
$30 CSGO guns dont get listed 🤣

Nope, it's not like a broker; it's more like in-game currency or even a crypto bank. Steam wallet funds are just digital "things", and it's almost certain that they don't have the financial reserve to cover all users' wallets. If someone buys skins or games while using real money, it's fine, but when people mass withdraw steam funds for real money things like games and steam decks, they'll be in huge trouble.

Technically, it's also nearly impossible that there is a problem JUST with expensive skins because you can sell cases instantly without problems. Also, the market API works because these skins are instantly visible in the community market database; they're just hidden in the market. I got scammer invites right after creating listings. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I understand that Steam needs to balance things, and there are these problems with skin bots right now. I got a little mad because I can't sell skins and buy a steam deck on sale, but ok, I get it. But STEAM, at least be fair and admit that it's not a "server load problem because of sales" but deliberate action, and how long it will take...

I would agree if you could withdraw your steam funds in cash. They would want to stop a run on the cash, like a bank. But seeing as you cannot turn your steam currency into cash, when a sale happens the 'in game currency' never leaves steam. It simply goes from one steam account to another minus the fee. Therefore there is no money or in game currency leaving steam. If they are buying games then the money also going to steam.

You're basically withdrawing it for games (and the money leave steam, going to game developers) and devices like stramdeck or index (and the money again leaves steam, to cover parts cost, production etc). If they are just taking their cut, and don't touch the unused amount from user's wallets then you're right. But I don't think so, IMHO they use that money for development and investing purposes just like regular banks, because that's just like free loan.
