"Featured & recommended" without "recommended"
Guys, does anyone have an idea, how can I limit top line (featured and recommended) with only recent games? I mean, I'm following gaming industry quite closely, I don't need to see games, which came out 4-5-6 years ago. If I still haven't bought 'em - I don't need 'em :)
But I don't see, how can I remove them with this new design... :(

You'd have to ignore them individually.

You mean, with "not interested"? Each game separately? Doesn't look very user-friendly to me ^_^

It isn't.
Some of the new underlying functionality is good, but the overall UI changes are once again a pile of ♥♥♥♥.

What makes you think Steam cares about your user experience?

I mean, c'mon, people who don't have mobile phones are getting completely screwed in the community.

Sorry to burst that belief but it's even WORSE on mobile phones.

I found a way to disable it. Click on the preferences option, uncheck all categories of software, then check to not show games with violence, gore or sexuality, then select only show linux games.

This will leave about 5-10 games left, just click not interested and it stops populating the list.

I love tagging recommendations 'not interested' only for them to be replaced with more stuff I'm not interested in. It's like free to play whack-a-rat. THANKS VALVE!!!

I agree. I guess it's nice to have for those who want it, but I don't want the featured box populated primarily of "recommendations". I want to look at the featured box for new things (as in actually new), what sales are up, and the release list. The recent updates don't really facilitate any of these. The only one that is kinda moot is the sales box.

Of course they have to have "Recommendations"; otherwise, how are they going to be able to justify the resources they spent on developing the algorithm?

how about an algorithm based on the fact that i saw the sales of a game 20 times in the past 12 years and still didn't buy it... and get that game out of my face. lol you don't use algorithm with tag. tags are for user to use when they want to search ♥♥♥♥. algorithm is for user behavior.

Given half the time the items they're recommending are based on games people've played, you could make the argument that it's based on user behavior.

obviously they missed the "release date" factor in their algorithm.

Yeah, this is annoying. Only old games are getting listed in the "Featured & Recommended" section. Steam Devs, please stop messing with things that don't need to be touched. The look appears to be slowly turning all blocky and classic looking in a bad way.
Serell Nov 14, 2016 @ 7:58pm
Of the 12 slides I have now, only 2 of the games are featured.

10 recommendations and 2 featured.

Valve pls
